John Turier has long been looking for a marriage between his two loves, that of the physical, tactile construction techniques and mediums of sculpture; and the equally complex processes of painting and drawing.
His latest body of work can be divided into three thinkings:
The larger works, which combine sound, kinetics, form, materials and paint. The wall mounted works, which come out of a sculptural premise, but have been developed to included painted and drawn surfaces. And the freestanding works, that celebrate the magic of the simple toy and the unbridled striving of a rampaging humanity.
