Harrie FASHER | Creative Australia Grant Recipient for ‘Before Dawn’, at Orange Regional Gallery

August 9, 2025

Congratulations to HARRIE FASHER, who has received a grant from Creative Australia in support of her forthcoming survey exhibition at Orange Regional Gallery, titled Before Dawn

Before Dawn is a major solo exhibition by leading contemporary sculptor Harrie Fasher featuring monumental bronze and concrete sculptures alongside smaller works. This exhibition represents a pivotal moment in Fasher’s career, consolidating five years of artistic and technical research at an ambitious scale. Before Dawn explores resilience and transformation through material contrasts – weight against fragility, rawness against refinement.

Exhibition Dates: November 29, 2025 – February 26, 2026
Where: Orange Regional Art Gallery, 149 Byng St, Orange NSW 2800
Open from 10am-4pm daily (closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Good Friday)

Artist Statement:
I have seen some cracka shows in Orange’s new North gallery extension and am humbled by the trust and unwavering belief placed in me by @bradley_hammond_100 🙏
“Before Dawn” holds everything that drew me to sculpture; the unrivalled possibility of material exploration, scale and installation generating sensation in its visitors. A dear friend and colleague, @ingridmorley, once described my work to me… her words, vague now, implored my ability to imbue a cold industrial material like steel with a moving human emotion. Gee, I hope this Orange exhibition, filled with bronze, bio Crete and textiles lives up to her expectations!
