Idris Murphy and Peter O’Doherty in the ‘Wild Wild West’, in partnership with Wild Deserts, at the UNSW Arid Zone Research, Fowlers Gap

A group of artists including Idris MURPHY and Peter O’DOHERTY will travel with the UNSW arid zone research property called Fowlers Gap Arid Zone Research Station, in partnership with the ecological conservationists and the Wild Deserts project team.

he group of artists will explore the area, and engage with those managing the ongoing projects and research conducted by the university. The other artists include Peter Sharpe, Michelle Cawthorn, Susan O’Doherty, Glennis Murphy, Eva Nolan, David Doyle, Kathryn Graham and Krystal Evans.

Wild Deserts is an exciting project with a vision to understand, restore and promote desert ecosystems through ecosystem manipulations, reintroductions and collaborative partnerships.
The artists will be positioned close to Cameron Corner, approximately 140 kilometers west of the outback town of Tibooburra. And yes, they are planning to visit the iconic pub situated at the intersection of three time zones!
