Congratulations to Tom Carment whose portrait of James Scanlon, which was selected for the Salon des Refusés at the S.H Ervin Gallery, will feature in the travelling exhibition in Adelaide.
The Salon des Refusés was initiated by the S.H. Ervin Gallery in 1992 in response to the large number of works entered into the prestigious Archibald Prize which were not selected for display in the exhibition at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. The S.H. Ervin Gallery’s ‘alternative’ selection is now a much-anticipated feature in its own right.
