Curator, writer and historian Dr Sarah Engledow talks to landscape painter Amanda Penrose Hart about her 15th exhibition at King Street Gallery on William on August 9th, 2025. The show is called White Water. The conversation touches on how a place lives in the imagination of its inhabitants after an artist interprets it. Amanda reveals her key to how a landscape can be encapsulated on canvas, as well as her choice of paint types, why starting a painting is a mad process and why she sometimes flings her canvases into the air and onto landscape she’s painting.
