KSGoW is pleased to announce the representation of Douglas Schofield, an abstract, gestural painter whose fine arts practice reflects his ongoing gardening and horticulturalist practice. @dougie_schofield
Schofield is an emerging artist currently based in Sydney, NSW. In 2017 he graduated Fine Art (Hons) at UNSW Art & Design, with a major in painting and a minor in printmaking. Douglas was born in 1993, on Yuin Country/ Eden, NSW and grew up on the Far South Coast of NSW, in his parent’s rambling garden. This early immersion in nature has resulted in a practice that reflects on the bodily experience in landscape.
To date, Douglas Schofield has featured in numerous group exhibitions across Australia and internationally, in China, Spain, and Philippines. He has been a finalist in multiple Australian and internationally based prizes, including the Fisher’s Ghost Award at Campbelltown Arts Centre @campbelltownartscentre, the Hazelhurst Art on Paper Award, Hazelhurst Arts Centre @hazelhurstartscentre , and the York Botanic Art Prize, WA.
Douglas featured in our final group exhibition for 2025, Every Picture Tells a Story, and we’re delighted to share his forthcoming solo exhibition will present a selection of new large-scale oil paintings, from August 4: Spotted Gum Honey Moon. In Gallery 1, concludes August 29, 2026).
