Robert Hirschmann has crafted a successful career through an idiosyncratically abstract practice. The series of paintings titled Past Night is a new cycle to the artist’s unique and innovative oeuvre. In this instance, Hirschmann looks to the ever changing moon for inspiration to the many layers of his creative process- one that focuses on form as both an aesthetic and spiritual expression. This new body of work offers the audience a chance to reflect on the shifting pendulum between the life and loss around them. Occurring night and day, day and night.
